Effective 22 July 2026
TailIQ Verify Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the initial free release of the TailIQ Verify Chrome extension handles data.
Data processed
Account labels, issuers, TOTP secrets, algorithm parameters, ordering preferences, reliability snapshots, and backup status are stored in extension-specific local storage in the current Chrome profile. Verification codes are calculated on the device.
Transmission and sharing
TailIQ Verify does not send account data, TOTP secrets, or verification codes to TailIQ or third parties. A code is written to the system clipboard only after you explicitly click it.
Backups and retention
Encrypted backups are created and downloaded only when you request them. TailIQ does not hold the backup file or master password. Uninstalling the extension, deleting the browser profile, changing computers, or device failure may remove local data.
Permission use
storage is used for local accounts, snapshots, and preferences. clipboardWrite is used only when you explicitly copy a verification code. The extension does not request access to webpages.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
TailIQ Verify complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information obtained through the extension is used only to provide or improve its disclosed single purpose, and is not used for advertising, profiling, or sale.
Contact
For privacy questions, email tailiq@outlook.com. Do not send TOTP secrets, current codes, QR codes, or complete backup files.
